How Much Do I Earn On the Sale of My Products?

Printine artists earn a percentage of the sale on every product purchased featuring their designs. This FAQ provides more information on how your artist earnings are calculated.

Retail Price = Base Price / (1 - Markup)
Artist Earnings = Retail Price * Markup

How It Works

Prices on printine  are determined by the base price (set by us) +  markup(set by artists, recommended from 5% to 10%).

Note: The final artist earning is calculated on the price sold after any sales/discounts are applied by customers at checkout.

Base Price

The base price is the price of an item before the markup is applied, which is set by printine.

Markup

Artists can set the specific rate after adding the design.Markups are recommended for 5-10% depending on the product.

Retail Price

The retail price is the base price plus the markup. This is the final price that's visible on the site to customers. The retail price does not include sales tax or shipping costs.

Calculating Earnings

Retail Price = Base Price / (1 - Markup)
Artist Earnings = Retail Price * Markup

For a mug with a base price of $20, the artist applies a 10% markup after adding the design.

1. Without a sale/discount applied:

Retail Price = 20 / (1 - 0.1) = 22.22 $
Artist Earnings = 22.22 * 0.1 = 2.22
$

2. With a sale/discount applied:Let's say 20% off.

Retail Price = 20 / (1 - 0.1)*0.8 = 17.76 $
Artist Earnings = 17.76* 0.1 = 1.776
$

While sales and promotions may seem to impact your profits, it is important to note that we carefully consider the sales and discounts we offer to customers across product categories and each offer is designed to drive more customers and sales to your shop.

Special notes:

Printine does not handle artists' tax responsibilities. Artists must manage and pay applicable taxes based on local tax laws.
